The GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is a standardized test required for admissions for many graduate schools in the US. it's comprised of 3 sections - verbal reasoning, quantitate reasoning and analytical writing.
Test takes will receive 3 different scores, one for each section. The math (quantitative) and verbal sections are scored on a 130-170 scale, in 1-point increments. The analytical writing section (or essay) is reporting on a 0-6 scale, in half-point increments.
The decision you make about going to graduate school is a tough one and there are plenty of unknowns out there.
